Logbook Loan a new trend ?

I have been into UK's financial market for quiet some time and have noticed that people are over crowded in taking loan on their home for any purpose, the reason is low interest rate, but I am also seeing people running towards Logbook loans . Now what is logbook loans ?

Firstly let me tell you what is Logbook. The logbook is vehicle or car registration document. People in UK pledges their logbook to get loans on their cars, that is so called logbook loans.

The advantage of logbook loan is that it is approved immediately once the documents are verified and loans up to 50k pounds can be obtained at one time.

The disadvantage of logbook loans is the high interest charged, it's very very high when compare to any other loans, the rate is around 500% APR or above. So one can say that if some one is in need of urgent money or instant money he can pledge his logbook and obtain the loan quickly.

This market is not properly organized when compare to home loans, car loans or any other loans in UK market.

In U.K there are vast number of people who fall under bad credit rating and finally ends up not getting any loans for car and home.

What do you mean by bad credit let me first explain this. It means people who got loans but failed to return it with interest and later their rating were marked as bad. Millions of Americans lack health insurance policies

According to a latest research reports some $60 million American people do not hold a health insurance policy.

The further reports stated that around 3500,000 compared to the whole of 2009 and up nearly three million from 2008, when 60 million Americans were uninsured for at least part of the year, the study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention concluded.

Usually the Health insurance in America is offered by employers, and unemployment rose to 7.5 % of the workforce in March last year nearly 10 percent this year.

Majority of the uninsured were adults aged 18-65, the study found.

Nationwide Finance Profit Drops.

Nationwide Finance, one of the reputed finance companies in United Kingdom saw a drop in their profits due to investment losses. Nationwide finance is Columbus based company reported earnings of $85.4 million, or 62 cents a share, for the quarter ended June 30, down 57 percent from $197.3 million, or $1.37 a share, a year earlier. That included non-operating investment losses of $41.5 million, up from $1.2 million a year ago.

Nationwide's officer said that company's sales growth was adversely affected due bad market and other condition not in favor of financial institutions.
